Exciting times in MRI.  The Newmarket CDC is now open, and we are planning for our new Hospital for West Suffolk.

The post is for 34.5 hours per week, 3 long days 08:00-20:00 ideally Monday-Wednesday. Days off in lieu for weekend working on offer too. Please contact us to discuss.

We are looking for an MR radiographer who is ready to take on a new challenge. We are a friendly team who undertake a wide variety of studies.  We encourage autonomy and decision making.  We will support your wellbeing and professional development.

This post will involve working at West Suffolk Hospital and the CDC cover. We have Siemens and GE 1.5 scanners

You will be required to work extended days and weekends. Job share opportunities will be considered.

### Main duties of the job

To participate in 7 day extended day working

Understand MHRA and MRI safety applications in day-to-day scanning

To prepare and make patients feel at ease to whilst keeping a tight schedule

To review equipment and to flag any artefacts or issues

To participate in QA programme

To participate in training from ILS to ANTT

To adapt protocols according to clinical pathology

### Personal qualities

**Essential**

- Occupational health clearance to carry out all duties of role.
- Ability to travel to satellite locations to carry out post.
- High self-awareness, understanding own emotions, strengths and limitations.

**Desirable**

- Participation in out of hours MRI duties

### Skills and abilities

**Essential**

- Effective communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to build and sustain effective working relationships.
- Ability to work well in a small team.
- Demonstrate assertiveness with cross-sectional safety issues.
- Able to use a wide range of IT systems.
- Demonstrate good attention to detail.
- Ability to select suitable protocols for pathology.
- Good time management skills

**Desirable**

- Presentation skills.
- Possess leadership skills.
- Ability to teach MRI to staff, students and others

### Experience and knowledge

**Essential**

- Have experience in cross sectional imaging.
- Professional work experience in the NHS
- Demonstrate interest and experience in a variety of cross-sectional procedures.
- Must demonstrate current knowledge of MRI guidelines, in particular MHRA
- Participate in audit and governance.

**Desirable**

- Be competent in MRI
- Have senior experience
- Confident to check MRI safety for patients with active implants

### Education and qualifications

**Essential**

- Have a degree or equivalent in Diagnostic Radiography.
- Be registered with the HCPC.
- Comprehensive, up to date CPD portfolio
- GCSE in English or equivalent

**Desirable**

- Post Graduate courses in MRI
