An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious, forward-thinking and inspirational MRI Radiographer to lead the MRI service at Hammersmith Hospital, one of the UK's leading centres for specialist imaging, cardiovascular care and research.

This is a pivotal leadership role, offering the opportunity to manage a highly skilled team and shape the future of MRI services within Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. Working closely with MRI leaders across the Trust, you will drive service excellence, innovation, workforce development and outstanding patient care.

Hammersmith Hospital is home to three MRI scanners working 7 days a week and boasts a nationally recognised specialist portfolio, with particular strengths in advanced Cardiac MRI and a large, complex pacemaker (CIED) MRI programme.

The department delivers cutting-edge imaging for patients with highly specialised needs while supporting a strong culture of research, education and clinical innovation.

The successful candidate will combine extensive MRI expertise with exceptional leadership and people management skills. You will be passionate about developing teams, implementing service improvements, embracing change and delivering the highest standards of patient-centred care.

### Main duties of the job

- To be responsible for the professional leadership and management of all radiographers within the modality.
- To ensure that the service delivery is patient focused and of the highest quality.
- To ensure optimum efficiency and effective management of the radiographers within the unit.
- To assist in the formation of new policies, procedures and initiatives to improve current service delivery across all sites and aid in development of new services.
- Critically evaluate evidence to define the scope and standards of clinical practice.
- Uses specialised knowledge to advise others on the effective delivery of service.

- Regularly undertakes clinical work within specific modalities.
- To ensure that examinations are carried out to the agreed standard of the Directorate

### Skills

**Essential**

- Ability to lead and work as part of a team
- Ability to teach and mentor students and staff
- Ability to administer IV injections
- Evidence of service redesign / modernisation skills
- Ability to make prompt decisions based on knowledge, experience and circumstances

**Desirable**

- Leadership / management training
- Teaching, counselling and supervisory skills
- Presentation skills

### Education

**Essential**

- BSc(Hons) Radiography, DCR(D) Diploma of the College of Radiographers or Equivalent
- Post graduate qualification in appropriate speciality or demonstrably working to an equivalent level of expertise in MRI
- Health & Care Professions Council Registration
- Evidence of CPD

**Desirable**

- Post graduate study
- Management qualification

### Experience

**Essential**

- 3 years’ experience in MRI at Band 7 level
- Management experience
- Organisational experience
- Clinical governance awareness in relation to patient care
- Knowledge of developments within the profession

**Desirable**

- Cardiac MR Experience
