The Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin CAMHS services into a new chapter, with a range of exciting job opportunities available.  Our newly developed CHARM (Children’s Health and Resilience in Mental Wellbeing) Service will be an early intervention offer to children and young people with mild to moderate health and mental wellbeing problems.

We have opportunities for  an  Assistant Psychologists to join the CHARM service, and we have options to work at Severnfields in Shrewsbury or Langley School in Telford.

In the role you will assist in the development and delivery of an Early Intervention and Prevention Model within Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service including guided self-help, group and individual interventions.

You will provide clinical work as required by the service, under the direct guidance, close clinical and professional supervision of practitioner psychologist.

You will assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of data, development of audit and/or research projects, teaching, project work, facilitation of groups, and supporting young people and their families in accessing early intervention and prevention within Getting Help of the I-thrive model.

### Main duties of the job

- To provide support for service users in the newly developing CHARM Pathway, which will provide early intervention and prevention to young people experiencing distress within ‘getting help’ of I-thrive service under supervision.
- To provide patients with protocol-based psychological interventions, such as supported guided self-help.
- To support protocol-based group psychological interventions for service users and carers.
- To assist psychologists in the development of individual or group clinical materials or training materials.
- To contribute to the effective working of the service by managing audit databases and contributing to analysis/ dissemination where required.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Graduate level knowledge of psychological research methodology and statistical analysis.

**Desirable**

- Experience in Mental Health settings, preferably with Children and Young People.

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- A degree in Psychology that is accredited by the British Psychological Society and confers the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership of the British Psychological Society or Equivalent experience.
