The Medical Support Secretary will assist qualified staff in providing a safe and effective, patient focussed service in keeping with the aims, objectives and standards of the Trust. Responsibilities include supporting Consultants and Clinical Physiologists, assisting patients (including children and individuals with diverse needs), handling patient mobility and ensuring clinic areas are well stocked and hygienic. The role also involves administrative support, reasponding to enquiries, accurately reording patient information and preparing documents in advance for the smooth running of daily activities.

### Main duties of the job

Join our friendly Neurophysiology team and play a key role in supporting patients throughout their diagnostic journey. You will communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and multidisciplinary teams, providing clear information, reassurance, and support before and during procedures.

In this varied role, you will accompany inpatients within the department, monitor and report any changes in their condition, and escalate clinical concerns appropriately. You will also support clinicians during procedures and act as a chaperone when required, helping to deliver a safe and positive patient experience.

The post includes administrative responsibilities, such as covering reception duties, answering telephone enquiries, booking appointments, managing patient queries, and accurately entering data onto Lorenzo. You will also help ensure the department runs smoothly by preparing paperwork in advance, updating patient demographics, and maintaining EEG and EMG databases.
