### Job summary

Permanent position, Part time - 32 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Specialist Surgery team at Rotherham General Hospital as a Part-time Medical Secretary. Following the retirement of a valued member of staff, we are seeking an organised and proactive individual with excellent communication and administrative skills to support our busy clinical team.

The successful candidate will provide secretarial support to the Oral and Maxillofacial department, including the transcription of a high volume of clinical correspondence and administrative support for patients on an elective admission pathway.

We are a small, friendly, and supportive team seeking a motivated individual who works well independently and as part of a team. Applicants should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a good standard of IT literacy (including Windows-based systems), and RSA II or equivalent experience.

### Main duties of the job

Transcribe audio files to produce a high volume of clinical letters, reports, and other correspondence within agreed timescales.

Provide accurate minute-taking duties on a rota basis.

Assist with the administration of patients on an elective admission pathway, from pre-operative assessment through to admission and day surgery discharge.
