The role:

We are seeking a motivated and organised individual to join our Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) administrative team. You will provide a high-quality secretarial and administrative service to support our clinicians in delivering efficient patient care across acute and outpatient settings.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

- Royal Alexandra Hospital
- Permanent Contract
- Part-time position (18.5 hours per week)
- Shift Pattern for this post is Monday to Friday, hours can be discussed with the successful candidate as long as each day has some cover for example 08:30 – 12:15 Monday – Friday each week

Key responsibilities:

- Administrative Support: Manage clinical correspondence, including the transcription of medical dictations and digital audio typing.
- Patient Coordination: Act as the first point of contact for patients and staff, managing telephone enquiries and coordinating clinic appointments and waiting lists.
- Systems Management: Use NHS systems such as TrakCare, PECOS, and SSTS to maintain accurate patient records and manage departmental resources.
- Communication: Liaison with multidisciplinary teams, external agencies, and relatives with a high degree of tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality.

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

Qualifications:

- HNC/SVQ III in Secretarial Studies/Business Administration or equivalent practical experience.

Skills:

- Advanced keyboard skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
- Knowledge: Proficiency in medical terminology is essential; prior experience in a healthcare setting is highly desirable.
