### Job summary

Are you looking for a new challenge to become a Medical Secretary? Do you have excellent interpersonal skills with emphasis on communication to delivery outstanding patient care? Immunology are looking for a highly motivated, flexible and hard working person to provide secretarial and administrative support to the Consultant Immunologists and Nurse Specialists. The post is based at the Beckett Wing at St Jamess Hospital and will be part of the Allergy and Immunology team and the wider Respiratory Medicine team. Duties include (but are not limited to) dealing with telephone enquiries from patients, relatives and other health care providers, data entry, typing and preparing clinical correspondence using the EPRO system, filing, making outpatient appointments on PAS and dealing with the post. ### Main duties of the job

Criteria: GCSE Grade C or above (or equivalent e.g. AMSPAR Level 2) in English and Maths Audio typing/Word Processing Skills RSA II or equivalent experience (desirable) Experience in using Microsoft office packages including word, excel and PowerPoint Willingness to undertake further professional development Experience of dealing with the general public in a working environment Experience in using of patient information systems, such as PAS Previous experience of working in a healthcare setting (desirable) Prioritising and managing workload to meet deadlines Able to work independently and as part of a team Clear, concise, verbal and written communication skills Effective interpersonal skills Knowledge of the Data Protection Act in relation to patient confidentiality and the appropriate care of patient information.
