### Job overview

This is a part time role on a fixed term basis until 31st March 2027

### Main duties of the job

General office administration, including emails, telephone calls and voicemails, inbaskets/pools and post.

Supporting respiratory consultants, physiotherapists, clinical nurse specialists and other clinical teams with day-to-day administrative and secretarial duties.

Managing correspondence, including cleaning clinic letters, referrals, and other clinical documentation (EBSUS/Bronchoscopy leaflets). Correspondences referring to 2WW Lung cancer patients must be actioned in a timely manner to meet Cancer FDS standard.

Arranging and managing outpatient appointments, including booking new patient and follow-up respiratory clinics for Lung cancer target clinics and clinical nurse specialist clinics, monitoring clinic ultisation. Most booking is completed centrally by the contact center.

Communicating with patients and relatives, responding to queries professionally and directing clinical questions to the appropriate clinician.

### Applicant requirements

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

### Knowledge

- Understanding of NHS processes and terminology

- Able to manage unpredictable workload and interruptions
- NHS electronic-record system skills (EPIC)

### Experience

**Essential**

- Previous administrative roles
- Experience in communicating with a range of people both within and external to the organisation

- Experience of working with members of the public
- Experience within Respiratory services
- NHS experience

### Qualifications

- GCSE grade 5/C or equivalent in English and Maths
- NVQ level 3 in Administration/secretarial
