Medical Laboratory Assistant

25 hrs per week covering Monday-Friday 5pm to 10pm

We are looking for a Medical Laboratory Assistant to work within our Infection Sciences Department. at the Royal Stoke University Hospital site. The post holder will be required to perform a range of routine and non-routine tasks within Pathology following Laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including the Pathology Quality Policy, to provide clerical and technical support to Biomedical Scientists in order to ensure a high quality service in all areas of the relevant Pathology Discipline.

### Main duties of the job

The post will be based in Infection Sciences ( Bacteriology) at Royal Stoke University Hospital.

### Qualifications

- GCSE grades A-C in Maths, English and a Science subject.

- Awareness of Health & Safety matters
- Understanding the importance of confidentiality and data quality

### Technical skills

- Work under pressure prioritise workload and work to deadlines
- Manual dexterity
- Ability to concentrate for prolonged periods
- Ability to read and follow procedures and work in a methodical manner
