### Job overview

We are looking for an dedicated and enthusiastic person interested in laboratory work to join our busy, friendly Specimen Reception team in Blood Sciences, based at Broomfield Hospital.

This support role is vital to the efficient running of the Blood Sciences laboratories.  In accordance with agreed protocols and standard operational procedures, the post-holder will participate  receiving, booking -in and preparing and processing samples.

### Main duties of the job

This role includes clerical input of patient and test details into the laboratory computer system and performing required supportive duties, for example preparation of reagents, administrative and clerical tasks, and maintenance of equipment.

Once trained, participation in the out-of-hours service will be expected, as part of a rota, to include nights and weekend work.
