### Job overview

This is a part-time, 22.5hrs per week role, fixed term till 31-Mar-2027..

We are seeking a MIS Lead, and Antenatal and Community Services  Matron to lead on the delivery and be accountable for monitoring compliance with the six safety actions within MIS (year 8) at Harrogate District Foundation Trust Maternity services.

The service provides high quality, evidence based care to around 1700 births per year. We treat people as individuals and empower them to make decisions about their care and support their choices. Alongside this we aim to create an environment where our staff feel valued and appreciated, given the time, the skills and the support to provide the care they aspire to.

The individual we are looking for will have excellent interpersonal skills and is willing to embrace a new challenge.  This  is an exciting development opportunity to consolidate and enhance project management skills, operational management, leadership, knowledge, experience and skills.

You will have had experience of working in all areas of maternity and show a passion for supporting choices. You will be aware of the national ambition for maternity services and be able to work closely with our regional team in order to deliver improved perinatal outcomes.

### Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be required to undertake a range of duties as described on the job description. Some of the key aspects of the role are highlighted below:

- The post holder will lead on the delivery and be accountable for monitoring compliance with the six safety actions within the Maternity Incentive Scheme (year 8) and will report to relevant governance groups.
- The post holder will prepare reports, lead meetings and present papers at key regulatory maternity meetings.
- The post holder will ensure the principles of clinical governance are implemented at a local level and across the wider directorate.
- The post holder will be a proven change agent and role model, who can demonstrate a visionary and innovative approach to care with a good understanding of the local and national health agenda.
- Support the Head of Midwifery and the Associate Director of Midwifery and Children's Services in responsibility for the leadership, operational, professional development and governance of midwifery and maternity services at HDFT.
- Provide senior credible midwifery voice in a variety of settings, attending meetings and forums, challenging where necessary to ensure compassion in care is of the highest possible standard within the Trust, and promoting maternity services at all times.
- Support the Head of Midwifery and Associate Director of Midwifery and Children's Services in meeting the organisational, regional and national strategic maternity agenda

- Detailed understanding of MIS (year 8) safety actions

- Experience of leading patient involvement/ patient feedback initiatives.
