An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Alliance Care Group for a motivated and values- driven leader to play a pivotal role as Matron in a dual role for Community Medicine and Outpatients Clinical Business Unit. The role whilst capturing the matron's clinical role, will be a pivotal member of the Clinical Business Unit focusing on the organisational and national strategic direction outlined in the 10-year plan, focusing on the realignment of clinical services from acute providers to community. Service redesign, workforce planning and sustainability, left shift of services away from the acute provider whilst maintaining good quality, safe, patient centred services. You will have the opportunity to influence major changes for a number of clinical services, including neurology, dermatology, rheumatology, diabetes and endocrinology plus support clinical inpatient services at Grantham District Hospital and Lincoln County Hospital as part of the left shift agenda. You will be expected to work with the CBU to deliver transformational change whilst maintaining a key role in ensuring services are sustainable, aligned to national recommendations and local requirements, whilst developing and delivering a workforce that will reshape and support current and future services.

As a core member of the specialty triumvirate, the Matron works jointly with the Clinical Lead and Clinical Service/Operational Manager to deliver safe, effective and efficient services, reporting to the Clinical Business Unit Lead Nurse.

As a senior nurse leader, the Matron is accountable for the effective operational management of the nursing workforce and the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based nursing care. A visible and accessible clinical leader, the Matron drives high standards of care, ensuring clean environments, patient dignity and respect, prompt resolution of concerns, and consistently excellent patient experience.

The role has a key focus on clinical governance, service improvement and modernising services, with active involvement of patients and carers in service development and evaluation. The post holder will consistently demonstrate ULTH values, showing commitment to thoughtful patient care and continuous improvement.

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- 1st Level Registered Nurse
- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
- registration education/development
- Mentorship/Coaching Qualification
- Leadership and/or management Qualification

**Desirable**

- Masters level educational preparation or willingness to undertake

### Previous Experience

**Essential**

- 2 years experience at band 7 or equivalent
- Experience of managing and leading teams
- Experience of managing a budget
- Experience of leading change
- Experience of developing and implementing policies which enhance patient safety and patient experience

**Desirable**

- Experience of developing advanced clinical roles

### Specific Requirements

**Essential**

- UK Full Driving License
- Able to travel between sites

**Desirable**

- Able to travel to and travel and attend events outside of the Trust as required
