## Job Content

### Job overview

St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the country’s leading teaching hospitals, with an international reputation for excellence in patient care, education, and research.

Pre-operative assessment involves the clinical evaluation of patients to ensure they are optimised both physically and mentally before elective surgery. The unit plays a key role in reducing avoidable cancellations due to medical reasons and is an essential part of delivering high-quality care.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and flexible experienced nurse who embodies the Trust’s values and is committed to achieving the best outcomes and experiences for patients. The successful candidate will lead clinics and manage a daily caseload, demonstrating a flexible approach to work, strong communication skills, and a commitment to continuous learning and professional development within a specialist area, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.

This is a nurse-led service with anaesthetic support throughout the week. The post holder will require excellent communication and leadership skills, the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team, and the capacity to perform effectively under pressure. A strong clinical knowledge base and high level of motivation are essential.
