As a key member of the senior maternity leadership team, you will lead 24-hour telephone and face-to-face triage services, overseeing urgent antenatal and postnatal assessment pathways. Working with multidisciplinary teams and partner organisations, you will support patient flow, workforce deployment, service performance and patient experience.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of maternity triage through service improvement, quality initiatives and implementation of national standards. The role includes cross-site working and participation in senior maternity operational and on-call arrangements.

Following our recent CQC inspection, maternity services at both York and Scarborough were rated good across all five domains. This reflects the teams' dedication and our commitment to continually improving care.

You will join a service proud of its achievements and committed to learning, innovation and improvement. Be part of a forward-looking team that values collaboration and the voices of women, families and staff as we continue to strengthen maternity services for the future.

Key responsibilities include:

- Providing professional, clinical and operational leadership for maternity triage services across York and Scarborough.
- Leading the development of triage pathways in line with national standards, evidence and local priorities.
- Overseeing patient flow, capacity, demand, waiting times, workforce deployment and escalation processes.
- Supporting Flow, Safety and Escalation Midwives and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care and a positive culture.
- Leading governance, patient safety, risk management, complaints and incident investigations, ensuring learning is embedded into practice.

- Working with obstetric, neonatal, emergency care, ambulance, community and regional partners to improve pathways and outcomes.
- Supporting workforce planning, recruitment, retention and staff development.
- Championing personalised care, safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior midwife to influence services at a strategic level, lead improvement and make a significant difference to the quality and safety of urgent maternity care across our Trust.
