The aim is to provide equitable and expert support for women with  pre-existing or pregnancy-induced significant medical issues, to  ensure sustainability of that care wherever in the region they may  live, and additionally, to provide perinatal mental health support or  other onward referral as required. The Northwest Maternal Medicine Network is made up of three  specialist Maternal Medicine Centres (MMCs) held within St Mary’s  Hospital Manchester, Liverpool Women’s Hospital and The Royal  Preston Hospital alongside services delivered in local DGHs  supporting the population of the Northwest of England. The post  holder will work for UHMB and coordinate care for service users  requiring support from either one of the specialist centres alongside  services delivered within the unit. ### Main duties of the job The post holder will have responsibility for the effective and efficient Maternal Medicine service within UHMBT. S/he/they provide clinical and professional management and leadership for the Maternal  Medicine service. The post holder is responsible for ensuring the assessment of care needs and development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care are maintained to a high  standard.
