### Job overview

You will be responsible for providing high quality support to the Head of Reporting through the provision of a comprehensive range of management accounting activities.

### Main duties of the job

To coordinate own work and liaise with colleagues across Finance to prepare monthly accounts. This will involve maintaining and updating financial systems within set deadlines

To provide support for the Finance Business Partners on all aspects of financial management Proactively contribute to the management of the financial performance of a portfolio of budgets, identifying key financial pressures and appropriate corrective action.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Previous management accounting experience within the NHS.
- Previous experience of monitoring budgets and variance analysis
- Previous experience of data manipulation (with large data sets)
- Understanding of costing and PLICS
- Knowledge of Costing systems, overhead allocations and data reconciliation

**Desirable**

- Experience of using SBS General Ledger
- Experience in the use of SQL

### Knowledge and Skills

**Essential**

- Sound, demonstrable knowledge of financial and accounting procedures
- Sound numeracy and analytical skills.
- Sound oral, written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer literate with high-level spreadsheet skills
- Able to calculate, manipulate and interpret high volumes of data and present in an intelligent manner
- Good organisational skills and the ability to plan, prioritise and manage own workload
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- - Advanced user of Microsoft Excel, required to design new and/or improve existing financial monitoring systems.

**Desirable**

- Knowledge of the organisation’s objectives and activities
- Understanding of the NHS agenda and knowledge of NHS financial framework

- AAT Qualified

**Desirable**

- Studying for CCAB accountancy qualification
