Responsible for technical fault finding, diagnosis, repair, acceptance testing and calibration on a wide range of engineering plant and equipment, e.g. electrical distribution, lighting, fire detection, building management systems and automation, standby generator plant, security access control, nurse call systems and lifts. This is not an exhaustive list but provides examples of the type and range of systems and equipment worked on. Undertaking maintenance, repairs, minor improvement and capital work across the Trust as directed by management, ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures. Assists the Estates Manager to deliver business plans, review planned maintenance procedures and support the organisation. The role would be principally based Velindre Cancer Centre site however dependant on the needs of the service it may be required to work on the other site locations such as Welsh Blood Service and associated sites. ### Main duties of the job To work in accordance with the requirements of WHTMs & WHBN’s statutory regulations, IET Wiring Regulations and Trust policies. To ensure that all work is carried out in a safe manner always following the appropriate risk assessment. Subject to an individual’s availability, work overtime to carry out emergency repairs as required by management. Undertake essential repair works and general maintenance activities at the request of the management team in all trades. Carry out planned preventative maintenance inspections and commissioning tests in accordance with Trust procedures. Undertake technical fault finding on complex electrical systems and equipment. Using cause and effect analysis’ together with detailed examination to gain an effective solution. Accountably act as Authorised Person (AP) for relevant systems such as LV/HV, Medical Gases, Ventilation, Legionella Provide service lead role for areas covered as AP including providing plans/schedules related to maintenance activities and major interruptions. To attend training courses as required to maintain the ability to carry out the role. Follows detailed engineering drawings and specifications, interpret and follow all relevant regulations at all times.
