### Job overview

The post is based with the Waverley Road Community Mental Health Service. This involves providing clinical leadership, providing diagnostic assessments and treatment to service users with severe, complex, and high-risk psychiatric conditions.

HPFT community services were remodeled into HONOS cluster based virtual teams following a Community Services Review. Adult Community Mental Health Teams in North West Hertfordshire operate from two clinical team bases, The Marlowes in Hemel Hempstead (Dacorum district) and Waverley Road in St Albans (St Albans district).

### Main duties of the job

To undertake the administrative duties associated with the care of patients.

To record clinical activity accurately and comprehensively and submit this promptly to the Information Department.

To participate annually in a job plan review with the line manager, which will include consultation with a relevant manager in order to ensure that the post is developed to take into account changes in service configuration and delivery associated with modernisation.

To work with local managers and professional colleagues in ensuring the efficient running of services, and share with consultant colleagues in the medical contribution to management.

To comply with the Trust’s agreed policies, procedures, standing orders and financial instructions, and to take an active role in the financial management of the service and support the medical director and other managers in preparing plans for services.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Provision of psychiatric expertise to the multidisciplinary team

To undertake outpatient clinics, home visits and participate in multidisciplinary case discussions.

To liaise effectively with primary care and mainstream mental health services.

To have regular clinical supervision with the consultant psychiatrist. It is the post holder’s responsibility to ensure that this is booked.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

### ELIGIBILITY

**Essential**

- Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.

**Desirable**

- In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice.

### QUALIFICATIONS

**Essential**

- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.

**Desirable**

- MRCPsych OR MRCPsych equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

### ACADEMIC SKILLS LIFELONG LEARNING

**Essential**

- Ability to demonstrate clinical problem solving in interdisciplinary areas .
- Possession of good organisational skills.
- Be able to actively listen and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Has actively participated in clinical audit.

**Desirable**

- Holds a full valid driving license and access to a car (Unless you have a disability as defined by the Disability Discrimination Act 1995).

### CLINICAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

**Essential**

- A minimum of 4 years’ full time post graduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part time of flexible basis) at least two years of which to be within a psychiatry training programme or as fixed term Specialty Trainee within psychiatry o; or have equivalent experience and competencies.
- Ability to work well in multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent clinical skills using bio psychosocial perspective and wide medical knowledge.

**Desirable**

- Clinical experience in a range of services within Psychiatry.
- Excellent degree of medical knowledge in relation to the roles and responsibilities of the post.
