We are looking to appoint a full time Consultant General Radiologist with a subspecialist interest in Oncology and Acute imaging.

We are particularly interested in candidates who are competent in delivering a wide range of services across all modalities. We are interested in candidates with a passion to lead and develop the acute services.

You will be required to share the general reporting workload with other colleagues in addition to acute and oncology work. This will complement the skill mix of the existing consultant team.

The Radiology Department and the wider Trust support consultants to enjoy an exciting, flexible, and fulfilling career.  Opportunities for clinical quality improvement and further development of clinical leadership are given significant support within our organisation to those interested in making a difference.

Main Responsibilities

- Participate in the general workload of the department which includes contribution to the duty radiologist rota, vetting of requests and in-patient CT and MRI reporting.
- Provision of support for the general oncology workload including the ultrasound service, plain film reporting, x-ray meetings and relevant MDT. Taking a lead on the cancer on the unknown primary MDT.
- Support the cross-sectional Imaging workload of the department by undertaking cancer target CT and MRI as well as routine cross-sectional imaging.
- Support tumour site specific cancer MDT meetings as deemed appropriate, based on service specific requirements.
- Teaching and training of radiology registrars, reporting radiographers and medical students.
- Attendance at departmental discrepancy and educational / audit meetings.

## Person Specification

### Skills

**Essential**

- Ability to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of radiological investigations.
- Oncology CT / MRI reporting
- Ability to organise and manage radiology lists and priorities both in and out of hours.

**Desirable**

- Motivation skills, leadership skills

### Experience

**Essential**

- Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining a UK CCT in general radiology
- Experience of relevant NHS working
- Experience in supervising undergraduate and postgraduate residents.
- Completion of Quality improvement projects (QIP) or Clinical audit projects
- Evidence of CPD
- Experienced at independently preparing and presenting at MDTs

**Desirable**

- Previous experience of using online patient record system e.g., SystmOne / Nerve Centre /
- Experience as Educational Supervisor or Clinical Supervisor
- ST equivalent training programme with successful completion of CCT /CESR.
- Clinical leadership experience or training.
- Higher management training
- Non vascular intervention such as soft tissue biopsies and ascitic drains
- Radiology Fellowship in body imaging / oncology imaging / acute imaging
- Formal NHS leadership / management training.

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- MBBS / MBBCh and possess FRCR.
- Full GMC registration with Licence to Practice at time of application
- Oncology imaging sub-specialist training / relevant experience.

**Desirable**

- Special interest or additional qualifications in other areas of clinical radiology
- Higher degree
- Entry on GMC Specialist Register
- Formal teaching qualifications
