Post Summary: This 12-month fixed term post is within the Department of Trauma and Orthopaedics based at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. The post has been established in order to increase scheduled care capacity and reduce the number of long waiting new outpatients and those patients long-waiting for arthroplasty inpatient and daycase surgery. Elective operating will focus on long waiting arthroplasty orthopaedic surgical practice. On-call will be based at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, Little France, contributing to the Arthroplasty on-call rota. The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh has hosted the Major Trauma Centre in Lothian, part of the South-East of Scotland Major Trauma since 2021, and is a tertiary referral service for the adjacent regions of Fife and the Borders.
