### Consultant

Applicants must have full GMC Registration, a license to practise and eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview. Portfolio Pathway (formerly known as CESR - Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration) route doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive consultant post once it has been awarded. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.

Applications are welcome for the above Fixed Term, full time/ (40 hours per week) post based in Royal Infirmary Of Edinburgh

You will also be required to work at any of NHS Lothian sites.

Post Summary: This 12-month fixed term post is within the Department of Trauma and Orthopaedics based at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. The post has been established in order to increase scheduled care capacity and reduce the number of long waiting new outpatients and those patients long-waiting for arthroplasty inpatient and daycase surgery.

Elective operating will focus on long waiting arthroplasty orthopaedic surgical practice.

On-call will be based at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, Little France, contributing to the Arthroplasty on-call rota.

The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh has hosted the Major Trauma Centre in Lothian, part of the South-East of Scotland Major Trauma since 2021, and is a tertiary referral service for the adjacent regions of Fife and the Borders.
