### Job summary

Locum Consultant in Medical Oncology with sub-speciality expertise in GI Cancer This is an 8PA locum appointment for a consultant medical oncologist with special interests in GI cancer. This post will be available from June for a period of 6 months while plans for recruitment to a substantive post are worked through. This post will deliver approximately 6 PAs supporting the GI team working alongside the Leeds Medical Oncology GI team, which is led by Dr Dan Swinson and is supported by Dr Anthoney, Dr Collinson, Dr Seligman, Dr Williams, Dr Ulahannan, Dr Wood and Dr Samson. The remaining PAs will cover SPA and on-call activities. There will be opportunities to contribute to MDT and departmental meetings. The post-holder will support a 1:14 on-call rota. The successful applicant should hold accreditation in medical oncology from the Royal College of Physicians or equivalent and should be on the specialist register or within six months of being admitted to the register for trainees if currently in a training programme within the UK or have references which have been authorised by the deputy medical director and clinical director. Applicants should have established skills in medical oncology. Excellent communication and teamwork skills and a strong commitment to teaching and service development are essential. Consideration will be given to applicants who wish to work full- or part-time and those wishing to job share. Prospective applicants are encouraged to visit the dept.

The post will support an established and experienced medical oncology GI team and will be based at the Leeds Cancer Centre, St Jamess University Hospital. There will be opportunities to contribute to the MDT and departmental meetings, as well as teaching and service developments. This is an exciting time to join our GI Service, as we are currently looking at pathway redesign, alongside developing the service and the wider team. INTERVIEWS WILL BE HELD: 10 07 2026
