The post is for 10 months to provide maternity cover from August 2026, with the successful candidate dividing their time equally between PICU and KIDSNTS on a 50:50 basis. The role includes the delivery of high-quality paediatric intensive care, retrieval and decision support for critically ill children across the West Midlands network, alongside participation in teaching, quality improvement, governance and service development activities. ### Main duties of the job The appointee will join the dedicated PICU and KIDSNTS teams at Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust to support the delivery of high-quality paediatric intensive care and retrieval services across the West Midlands network. The post holder will be expected to maintain clinical standards and protocols, participate in teaching and supervision of junior medical and nursing staff, contribute to audit, quality improvement and governance activity, and support the ongoing development of both services.
