We have a vacancy in the F&A team for a locum consultant orthopaedic surgeon with a specialist interest in foot and ankle surgery.  The appointee will be expected to work flexibly within the F&A team and participate in the multi-disciplinary team in the management of patients with complex orthopaedic problems. They maybe expected to participate in the on-call rota. ### Main duties of the job We are seeking a  locum consultant to join our existing enthusiastic and experienced team of foot and ankle surgeons. The Foot & Ankle team are involved in many innovative initiatives to enhance the provision of foot and ankle surgery and to continue to work closely with academic colleagues to build the evidence base for orthopaedic procedures. This is an excellent opportunity to join a first class team in an active and progressive university hospital environment. You must be fully registered with the GMC/GDC and hold Licence to Practice. Candidates are highly recommended to visit the department and hospital ### Detailed job description and main responsibilities See Job description attached to the advertisement for a summary of the role and an indicative job plan. ## Person Specification ### GMC **Essential** - Full GMC registration and licence to practise ### Experience **Essential** - General training in Trauma & Orthopaedic surgery to specialist level or equivalent - Evidence of ability to make decisions at consultant level - Able to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team ### Skills and Knowledge **Essential** - Excellent leadership skills. Evidence of ability to lead a clinical team at the level of a consultant in a teaching hospital - Effective administrative and time management skills. Training in clinical management.
