Locum Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist(Lead for Colposcopy & Special Interest in Gynaecology Oncology

This is a locum consultant post for 6 months with a possibility of extension to 12 months. The post is with a special interest in Gynaecology Oncology and Lead for colposcopy to join a team of twenty other consultants in obstetrics and gynaecology.

### Main duties of the job

The colposcopy service serves the Croydon population and sees approximately 4000 women per year through either direct referral from South West London Laboratories or for clinical indications from primary and secondary care. There are currently 10 clinics running per week to meet demand, some of which will include ‘see & treat’ slots to improve the patient journey.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience in all areas of Colposcopy and Gynaecology Oncology

**Desirable**

- Experience in managing obstetric emergencies
- Experience and independent practice in OPH or Gynaecology scanning

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Membership of the Royal College of obstetricians and gynaecologist or equivalent
- On the accreditation register of the British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology
- Name on Specialist Register on date of taking appointment
- Full registration with the GMC

**Desirable**

- Higher degree (MD, PhD or equivalent)
- ATSM in Gynaecology Oncology
