We are a Level 1 Trauma centre for a population of 2.6 million, a regional Vascular Hub and the 3rd busiest vascular unit in England, the first 24/7 mechanical thrombectomy service in the UK with an active role in training hybrid IRs to support the stroke service, and a regional centre for patient groups such as for Placenta Accreta Spectrum. The post-holder will be involved in imaging and interventions, which underpin these services, together with being part of an IR on-call service. The Imaging Department at UHNM is a busy department providing both general and specialist services in diagnostic and interventional imaging. It is a large department which carries out over 400,000 examinations every year. ### Main duties of the job The post holder will contribute to the provision of a first-class service supporting vascular surgery, urology, GI surgery, renal medicine, amongst others, with whom we have a well-established, warm and collaborative relationship and support patient management through MDT’s and clinics.   MDTs are rotated equally between colleagues with appropriate preparation and admin time allocated. We have 3 interventional theatres within Imaging, 2 of which are full hybrid grade, refreshed as recently as 2023. There are advanced plans underway for the addition of at least another hybrid theatre. Successful applicants will contribute to a 1:8 IR on-call rota.  This includes being the 'IR of the day' on weekdays. Opportunities may exist for flexible working, extended working day and weekend working and additional PA’s, depending on service need. Currently we provide advanced imaging to support the vascular network together with selected reporting of CT and MRI which would support interventions. Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) (the proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of the interview) 2. Eligible for Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) – CESR must have been submitted by day of interview 3.
