Locum Consultant in Perinatal PsychiatrySt Johns Hospital

Applicants must have full GMC Registration, a license to practise and eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview. Portfolio Pathway (formerly known as CESR - Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration) route doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive consultant post once it has been awarded. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.

Applications are welcome for the above Fixed Term, part time (36 hours per week) post based in St Johns Hospital.

This is a part time (9 Programmed Activities) 12 month locum position working alongside a consultant colleague, a specialty and a trainee doctor providing a specialist inpatient perinatal psychiatry service to the patients of NHS Lothian, NHS Borders, NHS Fife, NHS Tayside and NHS Highlands. There are no associated on-call duties. Additional activities can be explored to make the post full-time if that is preferable.

The post will be based at St. Johns’ Hospital, Livingston. The post holder will be the clinical lead for the regional mother and baby unit and its thriving multidisciplinary team. Together with colleagues, the postholder will provide Maternity Liaison Psychiatry input to women delivering at St.John’s Hospital.

The post holder will be responsible clinical lead for the Mother and Baby Unit, Dr Vikki Argent Consultant Psychiatrist is psychiatric lead for Maternity liaison and the Community Perinatal Mental Health Team.
