Locum Consultant

Working Full Time: 10 sessions per week

This is an exciting opportunity for a Locum Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology to join the team in our new state of the art purpose-built Women & Children’s Building. The contract will be 6-12 months, dependant on start dates.

The successful applicant will be expected to deliver clinical excellence and demonstrate a strong commitment to multi-professional working. Job plans will include antenatal clinic, labour ward cover, general gynaecology clinic, caesarean section lists and emergency gynaecology as a basic structure with additional sessions depending on the applicants skills.

### Main duties of the job

You will need to demonstrate how your skill mix will help the department thrive and develop. The successful applicant will be expected to participate in the non-resident 3rd on call rota, which is currently 1 in 12.

We ask all employees to be flexible in their role, to always ensure we are delivering Safe, Kind and Effective care.

The Countess of Chester Hospital is situated in a beautiful location on the outskirts of the historic Roman City of Chester. Chester has excellent transport links, being within easy access of Manchester and Liverpool airports and the motorway networks. North Wales and the Lake District are within a short distance of Chester providing excellent recreational opportunities.

## Person Specification

### Qualifications & Skills

**Essential**

- Full GMC registration
- MRCOG or equivalent
- On Specialist Register of the General Medical Council or within six months of anticipated CCT date on the date of interview.

**Desirable**

- Further higher degree (MD/MSc)

### Teaching and Training Experience

**Essential**

- Experience/Interest teaching
- Understand role of Clinical Audit within Service
- Appropriate research and evidence base to practice

**Desirable**

- Diploma/Certificate in Medical Education

### Clinical Experience and Effectiveness

**Essential**

- Clinical training and experience in general obstetrics and gynaecology equivalent to that required for UK CCT
- ATSM in specialist interest subject
- Other relevant ATSM in Obstetrics and Gynaecology

**Desirable**

- Relevant research in the speciality
