Locum Consultant in General MedicineFull time or Part time (10 PA for full time)Salary Scale - £111,430 - £148,064 per annum (pro rata)

NHS Forth Valley seeks to appoint an enthusiastic individual to join a dynamic acute medical service in Forth Valley.

The successful applicant will be required to contribute to the general clinical service supporting acute medical patients on the acute site. The role will be supported by specialty teams including stroke, neurology, rheumatology, respiratory, gastroenterology. diabetes, endocrine cardiology and infectious disease medicine.

Whilst the post is ward based (Monday – Friday) it is expected that there will be a commitment to the acute general medical receiving in the acute assessment unit.

Ward B32 is an acute medical ward (32-37beds) which supports patients with both acute general medical and gastroenterological pathologies. The successful applicant will be working alongside consultant gastroenterologists each week supporting the general medical component of the ward population (average 18 patients). The existing Gastroenterology senior staff comprise of nine Consultants and five GI specialist nurses.

Informal enquiries should be directed by telephone to Dr David Watts, Gastroenterologist and Clinical Director for Medical Specialties, on 01324 566827.

Applicants will be expected to have a wide range of experience in General Medicine and possess the MRCP (UK) or equivalent.

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- MRCP (UK), or equivalent
- Full GMC registration, with licence to practice
- Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCT) / Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR).
- Applicants applying under the Portfolio pathway must be entered onto the GMC Specialist Register at time of application. At least 2 years General Professional Training in General Medicine
- At least 2 years General Professional Training in General Medicine
- At least 12 months of Higher Specialist Training in general medicine
- Subspecialty interest and experience which complements the interests of the existing clinical team and fulfils the needs of the service.
