We have ten diabetes and endocrine consultants across our sites, with dedicated diabetes and endocrine specialist nurses. We also have a dedicated podiatry (foot care) service and some dietetic input. There are dedicated diabetes endocrine wards on each site with daily ward rounds from the consultants. In addition, there is a team of endocrine nurses who provide support for dynamic endocrine tests. There are a number of general diabetes and endocrine clinics across both sites ### Main duties of the job Locum Consultant Endocronologist The post holder will be covering up to three clinics per week, depending on need for ward cover which will be general endocrine and diabetes clinics, although there will be room to develop sub-speciality interest in time. There will be an expectation that the post holder will support the in-reach of the speciality into SDEC, providing daily review of patients as needed, inpatient review of diabetes and endocrine issues on other wards will also be included.
