An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Dermatologist to join Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, a forward-thinking organisation committed to delivering outstanding patient care, education, research, and innovation.

Our Dermatology Department provides a comprehensive range of medical dermatology, skin cancer, biologic, paediatric dermatology services to a diverse population across West Yorkshire.

The successful candidate will join a highly motivated multidisciplinary team based at St Luke’s Hospital dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care while embracing new technologies and service developments.

Full time / Part time fixed term locum post for 23 months

### Main duties of the job

Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is proud to be the first NHS Trust in Yorkshire to implement Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology within its skin cancer pathway through an innovative partnership with Skin Analytics and the deployment of DERM. This pioneering approach is transforming the way dermatology services are delivered, improving patient access, supporting earlier cancer diagnosis, reducing waiting times, and ensuring specialist expertise is focused where it adds the greatest value.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

As a Consultant Dermatologist, you will join a forward-thinking and ambitious department that is leading the way in digital dermatology. This is a unique opportunity to help shape and develop one of the most innovative skin cancer pathways in the NHS, influencing service delivery at both regional and national levels.

You will work alongside a highly skilled and supportive multidisciplinary team with a strong commitment to clinical excellence, education, research, and continuous quality improvement. The position comprises 10 PAs and cover for urgent inpatient referrals and GP queries in working hours is also anticipated, but there is no formal out of hours cover required for this post on a regular basis.

Applicants will be expected to be Members of the Royal College of Physicians or have equivalent experience and training and must be fully registered and licensed to practise with the General Medical Council. . The post is open to people who wish to work flexibly.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

### Qualifications

- MBChB or equivalent
- MRCP or FRCS of equivalent to specialty (UK) or equivalent
- Full GMC registration and hold licence to practise

**Desirable**

- Additional postgraduate training (eg clinical research or medical education)
- Higher degree (eg MD, PHD or equivalent)
