### Job summary

Locum Consultant in Cardiology with a specialist interest in echocardiography, heart valve disease and general cardiology We are looking for an individual to fill this replacement post within the Cardiology Department at the Leeds General Infirmary. The echocardiography and valve service is led by Dr Dominik Schlosshan together with Dr Ananth Kidambi, Dr Kate Gatenby and Dr James ONeill. The purpose of this appointment is to continue core cardiology clinical activity following departure, and support further expansion and innovation within of the echocardiography, support for the structural valve disease programme and valve services. The successful applicant must hold a CCST or equivalent, and have completed higher specialist training (or equivalent).

### Main duties of the job

Applicants must be eligible to apply for inclusion on the specialist register. Applicants should have well-established clinical skills in cardiology, with particular expertise in echocardiography and valvular heart disease. Independence in transoesophageal echocardiography (TOE) is essential, and experience in independent stress echocardiography reporting is desirable. Significant experience in the advanced management of valvular heart disease, including multidisciplinary team working, is required. Experience or an interest in TOE for structural valve interventions would be advantageous. Applicants with experience across multiple cardiac imaging modalities are particularly encouraged. A strong commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate education is expected, and an interest in research would be advantageous. Consideration will be given to applicants who wish to work full or part time and those wishing to job share. Experience of participation in regular clinical audit.

Hold full GMC Registration with a license to practice.
