Locum Consultant in Adult Rheumatology (12 month FTC)

An exciting opportunity to join the Department of Rheumatology at University College London Hospital (UCLH).

The Rheumatology Department has a fascinating and varied caseload of both secondary and tertiary referrals with opportunities for exploring the clinical and academic interests of the successful candidate. The post has a both outpatient care and ward and on call commitments.

### Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will join a highly prestigious rheumatology unit with a world class reputation for its clinical and research departments. The Department of Rheumatology at UCLH is staffed by 11 consultants, 5 clinical nurse specialists, a team of nurses who run our day care unit, and a physiotherapy team led by extended scope practitioners. Junior medical staff consists of three full time Specialist Registrars, as well as visiting/research SpRs to make up a complement of 7 SpRs for the rheumatology on call rota, 0.5 CMT (shared with dermatology) and one FY1. The department accepts general rheumatology referrals and has specialist clinics in the following areas: adolescent rheumatology, young adult rheumatology, lupus and other autoimmune rheumatic diseases, axial spondyloarthritis, chronic pain, new therapies for inflammatory arthritis, rapid access clinics for early inflammatory arthritis, B-cell directed therapy for rheumatoid arthritis, obstetric-rheumatology, osteoporosis & other metabolic bone disorders, carpal tunnel syndrome and upper limb disorders.

- Eligible for full UK GMC Registration   .  NB: Non UK trained doctors must be on the GMC register and Specialist Register in Rheumatology by date of interview.
- On GMC Specialist List in Rheumatology or within six months of attaining CCT

- Track record of research, publications/ understanding / knowledge of Research ethics
