This 12-month post offers the opportunity to join the non-malignant haematology team, working alongside 6 Consultants and 1 Haematology Specialist Doctor to deliver a comprehensive non-malignant haematology service. A concurrent recruitment process is also underway for a 7th Consultant appointment, reflecting the continued expansion of the team ### Main duties of the job Candidates should have a specialist interest in Haemostasis and Thrombosis and TTP and will be expected to provide a comprehensive inpatient and outpatient service within non-malignant and general haematology. Significant experience in these areas is essential. The post holder will be expected to progress to undertake the clinical lead role for the DVT and anticoagulation service and chair of the Trust Thrombosis Committee. The successful candidate will also contribute to the haemostasis and thrombosis laboratory diagnostic services. ### Detailed job description and main responsibilities This is a full time post. However NUH are committed to supporting flexible working where possible and there will be an opportunity at interview to discuss individual preference. This service provided by the Clinical Haematology Specialty is provided across both campuses, with the primary base will be Queens Medical Centre. The proposed Job Plan is detailed in this job description. It accounts for 10 programmed activities (PAs) comprising: - PAs of direct clinical care (DCC), including ward rounds, clinics, patient administration, clinical diagnostic work, MDTs, and GP advice and guidance. - PAs of supporting professional activities (SPAs) include appraisal, audit, teaching, educational supervision and network meetings Please see detailed Job Description attached. ### Applicant requirements You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
