We are excited to welcome a new Consultant Gastroenterologist to our friendly, dynamic, and forward-thinking team based at York Hospital for a fixed-term 12 month post.

This is a 10 PA post over five days. We welcome interest from those seeking sub-specialty roles, academic involvement, research, or less than full-time working, and are happy to explore tailored job plans to suit your professional goals and lifestyle.

This role will support both Gastroenterology and Hepatology clinics.

The post is offered as 10 programmed activities (PAs) over five days. We are open to discuss any specific or specialised job plans that candidates may desire, including flexible/less than full time working. The department strives to achieve a collective work ethos to help to maintain long term sustainability to work-life balance. Whether you are interested in a sub-specialty commitment, teaching, research or quality improvement projects, we are excited to explore these opportunities with you.

This role will support both Gastroenterology and Hepatology patient care.

## Person Specification

### Qualification

**Essential**

- MRCP or equivalent qualification
- Full GMC registration with license to practice.
- Medical Degree

**Desirable**

- MD or equivalent higher degree or evidence of relevant research
- Substantive NHS experience

### Research and Audit

**Essential**

- Experience of undertaking audits and presenting their findings
- Able to critically review and apply research to clinical situations

### Teaching and Supervision

**Essential**

- Experience in teaching & supervising medical students and junior trainees

**Desirable**

- Experience of supervising SpRs/specialist trainees Higher teaching qualification

### Clinical practice/ competence

**Essential**

- Ability to demonstrate a high level of clinical experience in Gastroenterology +/- general medicine

### Eligibility & Fitness to Pract

**Essential**

- Eligible to work in the UK
