An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic and innovative devices team at the Royal Wolverhampton Hospital NHS Trust for a 1 year fixed term locum consultant post. The post holder will, in conjunction with Consultant and Senior colleagues, provide general cardiology, , device implants, clinics and MDTs and play a full part in the out-of-hours On-Call service for the department.

### Main duties of the job

This new locum post is in view of growing demand for device implants, semi-retirement of one colleague and the in keeping with the aspiration to develop new services.

We need someone who will work well within our existing team of device consultants to enhance the existing service. You would be joining an enthusiastic team. The successful applicant will be part of a 1:17 week cardiology ward weekday on-call rota when normal activities are cancelled.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post holder will work closely with Consultant Colleagues and with the current Cardiology Lead acting as a mentor to the newly appointed locum consultant if desired.

There are 12 middle grade funded posts in the Cardiology Directorate of which 5 are training posts and are allocated by the Deanery. There are 4 FY2’s assigned to the cardiology department, 1 core trainee and 1 specialty doctor and 3 ANP. There is also 1 research fellow.

The on-call ward week will be supported by a middle grade as well as the specialty doctors and FY2’s and ANPs.

### Applicant requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

- Extensive experience in the management of Heart Failure.

### Educational Qualifications

**Essential**

- Full registration and a licence to practise with the GMC. MRCP UK or equivalent.

**Desirable**

- Higher Medical Degree (MD PhD or equivalent)
