## Job Content

### Job overview

This post represents an exciting job opportunity for a locally employed tier 3 doctor. This is ST3 equivalent. The holder of this post will be expected to work at a senior level in the Emergency Department, providing knowledge, clinical skills and experience with supervision from tier 4 and 5 clinicians. The post comes with key benefits including protected non-clinical time and a dedicated supervisor to provide support, learning opportunities and supervision.

Tier 3 doctors are expected to possess all of the competencies as laid out by the Royal College of Emergency Medicine and have achieved adequate entrustment levels in all areas of the EM curriculum. This includes the ability to intervene effectively in an emergency, organise and control input from other specialties, and to provide definitive treatment within the scope and facilities of the Emergency Department.

The job comes with many advantages including working in a brand new, purpose built Emergency Village. There will be an 80:20 split between clinical and non-clinical time. Non- clinical time can be used to pursue the specific interests of the post holder - there are many opportunities available to pursue quality improvement, research, ultrasound and teaching.

We're looking for someone with up to date UK professional registration with the GMC, Emergency Medicine experience in the UK of least 6 months or 12 months overseas plus MRCEM qualification and up to date ALS.

Participate in the audit, research and teaching activities of the department.

Acquire, maintain and develop the knowledge and skills required for the successful conduct of all of these responsibilities. The post holder will have a Consultant Mentor.
