The Trust is compliant with the European Working Time Directive. This is a Trust CT1-2 equivalent grade post in General Surgery for 1 year. The appointee will participate in a 1:10 on call rota. The on call covers emergency General Surgery and Urology patients and shifts include long days (both weekdays and weekends) 08:00-21:00, night shifts (20:00-09:00), and a short day on Saturday to assist with discharges (08:00-13:00). The on call is led by a Consultant of the week, with middle grade and FY1. Standard days (08:00-17:00) are ward based on a rota with FY1/2 to provide ongoing care to General Surgery inpatients.
