### Job overview

We currently have one ST5+ posts available in Acute Medicine. From 7th October 2026 until the 6th April 2027.

These posts provide the post-holder with a wide range of clinical experience in Acute Medicine to prepare you for future specialist training applications.

### Main duties of the job

The post-holder will be expected to work across our Acute Medicine services within the inpatient and outpatient setting. They will participate in the acute general medicine resident on-call rota at minimum of IMT3 level.

They will work closely with the multidisciplinary team and will have close supervision and training from the Consultants across these services

### Applicant requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

### Skills

**Essential**

- Sound basic clinical skills
- Competent in management of emergencies
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Experience in delivery of teaching and education. Faculty on local or national courses
- Full GMC Registration

**Desirable**

- Keyboard skills and computer literacy
- Experience of setting up courses

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- First medical degree
- Appropriate professional postgraduate qualification e.g. MRCP, MRCS etc.

**Desirable**

- Higher specialty qualifications
- Distinctions/Honours/Prizes

- Good organisational and time management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, relatives, GP’s, nurses and administrative staff.
