### Job overview

We have a rare opportunity for a motivated, clinically credible and astute senior nurse to lead the ICHT Site Nurse Practitioner team who oversee all activity on Trust sites.

As well as managing the Nursing and Admin teams within Site Operations, the postholder will remain in clinical practice as the lead for the Trust's Hospital at Night service, so the ability and willingness to work nights and weekends is essential for the role.

This post offers a real opportunity for a practitioner who wants to retain a clinical focus to their career whilst delivering a high level of operational decision making as a senior manager. The Site Nurse Practitioner team are the first port of call for any untoward incidents in the Trust, so the ability to think critically and creatively are essential.

As the role has a large clinical component, the successful candidate will possess a wide range of practical skills and demonstrate a breadth of nursing knowledge acquired through clinical practice. A non-medical prescribing qualification, experience of delivering advanced practice skills and an extensive operational Site Management background are prerequisites for the role, along with evidence of the ability to successfully lead a team and contribute to the wider Trust agenda.

### Main duties of the job

- The successful candidate will be a competent clinician able to deliver high quality evidence-based care to patients yet, at the same time be able to meet the challenges of leading a busy team and managing the Trust sites both in and out of normal working hours.
- As the most senior nurse and operational manager on site overnight, you will be dealing with a range of and organisational issues in a variety of settings, as well as supporting the wards by providing an Advanced Practice service for patients.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Varied post-registration background, including recent Site Management experience at Band 8a or above
- Proven ability to function as a clinical/operational lead
- Recent experience working out of hours and at night.
- Experience of leading/managing a Team or Service

### Education/ qualifications

**Essential**

- Registered Nurse
- Master’s Degree in a Healthcare related subject, or substantial relevant experience
- Experience in delivering advanced practice
- Non-Medical Prescribing qualification
- Valid Resuscitation Council Advanced Life Support Provider course

**Desirable**

- Post Basic clinical course
- Evidence of continuing professional development at Postgraduate level
- Advanced Physical Assessment course
- RCN accredited ACP qualification
