### Job overview

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with paediatric nursing experience and excellent team working capabilities to join our team of Band 7 Lead Nurse's working within the Children's Community Nursing team to cover a 12-month secondment.

The Children's Community Nursing team is based within the Royal Derby Hospital as part of University Hospitals of Derby & Burton NHS Foundation Trust. We cover the following geographical areas - Southern Derbyshire, Derby City and Erewash.

For this role we are looking for someone who has exceptional communication skills and can demonstrate expert knowledge and clinical assessment skills. You will be required to manage the daily challenges associated with leading a team of community nurses and supporting staff to deliver the highest level of care possible to our service users and their families whilst directly line managing staff and having oversight and awareness of the caseload of children that the team are caring for.

You will need to be motivated to lead development within the service. This will require you to have experience of implementing change in policies, procedures, service specification and managing the assurance of good practice and service delivery to the senior leadership team.

You must be a car user with a full, clean driving licence.

### Main duties of the job

- Provide clinical cover as required, including lone working in community settings such as patients’ homes, schools, and nurseries
- Provide clinical caseload oversight, including allocation of work and leading clinical decision-making
- Lead on roster management, including allocation of annual leave and oversight of flexible working arrangements
- Complete staff annual appraisals and provide regular supervision to support performance and development
- Attend and contribute to clinical meetings within the Trust and with external partner organisations
- Participate in operational meetings
- Manage financial responsibilities, including budget oversight, reviews, and resource allocation
- Oversee recruitment processes, including management of vacancies via TRAC
- Manage team expenses in line with Trust policies
- Lead on the implementation and ongoing review of PGDs and clinical policies
- Manage complaints and incidents, ensuring timely investigation and resolution
- Promote and develop the CCN service, including contributing to and leading business cases
- Undertake and support clinical audit activity to drive quality improvement
- Develop and maintain effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
- Represent the service and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including the ICB, clinical networks, social care, and education services
- Lead on risk and governance processes, including DATIX management and risk register reviews
