### Job overview

To take overall responsibility for the planning, development, organisation, management and delivery of a high quality Nuclear Medicine  service, ensuring the provision of the highest standards of patient care are maintained through meeting National Targets.

### Main duties of the job

- To maintain standards as a Nuclear medicine  Radiographer which include: Maintain state registration as a Radiographer, maintain confidentiality at all times, to ensure the patients’ care, comfort and safety are maintained at all times, to perform IV cannulation and administration of contrast media in line with departmental policies and procedures. To co-ordinate the work of the Nuclear Medicine unit and liaise with other departments, staff groups and patients to provide a comprehensive and efficient service. To comply with the ionising radiation and radioisotope regulations, IRR17 and IR(ME)R 2024 and ensure that during the course of work adequate protection is given to self, patients, visitors and other staff as laid down in any set local rules for the protection of persons against ionising radiations, MRI and Ultrasound. To provide a highly specialist, clinical and technical service in conjunction with the Consultant Radiologists and changing demand. To liaise and organise with companies to ensure equipment is maintained and ensure records of equipment servicing and breakdowns are kept in a timely and accurate manner and to advise Radiology Services Manager of any impacts on service delivery. Investigate and radiation incidents and report them in line with CQC IR(ME)R guidelines.
