### Job overview

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Dietitian to join our adult dietetic leadership team as a Band 7 Specialist Clinical and Team Lead Dietitian within Critical Care and Surgical services.

This is an opportunity to work within a developing service that is strengthening senior roles to prioritise specialist clinical expertise, visible team leadership, and clear accountability. You will be part of a supportive and collaborative team, focused on delivering high-quality patient care while continuing to improve how we work.

You will hold a specialist clinical caseload across inpatient critical care and surgical specialities, alongside leadership and line management responsibilities for your team. Working closely with other Band 7s and the wider MDT, you will play a key role in supporting safe, effective, and timely dietetic input within complex and high-risk environments.

If you are looking to develop your leadership skills, work in a specialist area, and contribute to a service that is evolving and improving, we would welcome your application.

### Main duties of the job

Outside of clinical work, we are a supportive and friendly team who value connection and collaboration, with opportunities to come together informally and share experiences. We aim to balance high standards of care with a positive working environment.

You will act as the clinical and team lead for critical care and surgical dietetics, delivering enhanced dietetic care to patients with complex needs while providing leadership and direction for your team.

Key responsibilities include:

- Managing a specialist clinical caseload, providing expert assessment, planning and decision-making for complex and high-risk patients
- Leading and developing a team of dietitians and support staff, including supervision, delegation, and supporting performance and development
- Acting as the senior escalation point for clinical decision-making, prioritisation, and risk management within your specialty
- Leading and contributing to service development, audit, and improvement work, supporting staff to build confidence and capability in these areas

If you are looking to develop your leadership skills, work in a specialist area, and contribute to a service that is evolving and improving, we would welcome your application.

- Prioritising and triaging referrals to ensure high risk patients receive timely and appropriate care
- Determining when to escalate, adapt, or challenge clinical management plans for complex patients
- Allocating workload and resources across the team to maintain safe, effective and responsive service delivery

We are looking for someone who is clinically confident, organised, and able to lead with clarity and purpose in a dynamic acute environment, contributing to a culture of high performance, accountability, and continual learning.
