The role primarily involves transporting patients between Q-Park and Main Outpatients, along with other ad hoc duties as required. Working Hours: Monday to Sunday, mixed days, lates, nights and weekends 37.5 per week Key Responsibilities: - Safely transport patients between designated locations on site - Assist patients in and out of wheelchair-accessible vehicles - Ensure all wheelchair securing and strapping procedures are followed correctly - Provide a high standard of care, safety, and professionalism at all times Essential Requirements: - Physically fit and able to handle wheelchairs and mobility equipment - Good customer service skills with a patient and caring approach - Strong attention to detail, particularly regarding passenger safety - Ability to follow procedures and work independently ### Main duties of the job NHS drivers have a variety of responsibilities that are essential for the smooth operation of healthcare services. These duties require NHS drivers to be highly responsible, reliable, and empathetic, with good driving skills and a thorough understanding of health and safety regulations. ### Detailed job description and main responsibilities To keep accurate personal records i.e. timesheets To manage workload to maximise efficiency of deliveries and collections The post will require some problem solving to address on site customer enquiries To achieve and maintain the standard of service as agreed, keeping within timed schedules, and working unsupervised Planning of own day to day work tasks To supply a delivery and collection service as laid down by current schedules To keep documented reports associated with each journey- i.e. vehicle log sheets, mileage, to comply with Transport Regulations. To check the vehicle each day, prior to use, of fuel, oil, water, tyres, lights and keep documented records, i.e. defect reports etc. as required plus any other associated forms, in order to maintain the safety of the driver, vehicle and other road users. Taking the vehicle to hirer for repairs, servicing and MOT's To keep the vehicle, clean inside and out, to prevent dirt and cross contamination To be responsible for the safe loading and unloading of goods, observing associated Health and Safety guidelines, to prevent injury to self and other persons There will be a need to communicate with other staff at various levels within the Trust. To establish good working relationships with all customers to maintain the agreed level of service.
