Applications are welcome for the above Fixed Term, full time/ 40 hours per week) post based in Edinburgh Royal Infirmary

The Department of Clinical Neurosciences – Neurosurgery are looking to appoint to the above post for a six month fixed term appointment. The post holders will be expected to work alongside and within the neurosurgical training grade team.

The duties of the post will be the same as those of an experienced Neurosurgical SpR.

### Clinical Experience

**Essential**

- Ability to deal with the assessment and management of patients with common neurosurgical emergencies as part of the on call team.
- Must be able to assess patients in the ward and outpatient clinic, refer appropriately for further investigations and act appropriately with the results.
- Ability to operate on patients with common neurosurgical emergencies, such as head injury, chronic subdural haematoma and cauda equina compression, under the direction and/or supervision \`of a Consultant neurosurgeon
