### Job overview

The post holder will, work across Moving & Handling training helping to deliver all M&H training. They will be required at times to offer support to other areas of the learning and Development Training portfolio. The post holder will support the provision of work placed assessments across the trust. The post holder will deliver contribute to the development of training in collaboration with the Team Leads, Instructors, Service Users and Subject Matter Experts.

### Main duties of the job

The post holder will plan, deliver and evaluate a range of accredited and bespoke training interventions across the Moving & Handling portfolio and wider Learning and Development programmes as required. They will develop training materials, maintain accurate training records, and ensure all interventions meet Trust standards and accreditation requirements. The role includes supporting workplace assessments, progressing towards accreditation with the National Back Exchange and as a workplace assessor, and contributing to the quality assurance of training provision. The post holder will liaise with services to identify training needs, provide guidance to colleagues involved in training delivery, and ensure training environments and equipment are safe and fit for purpose. They will work both autonomously and under the indirect guidance of the Lead L&D Facilitator, supporting the effective delivery of portfolios and contributing to continuous improvement across the Learning and Development function.

## Person Specification

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Registered Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist (HCPC registered)
- Evidence of relevant continuing professional development (CPD)

**Desirable**

- Recognised teaching / facilitation qualification (e.g., PTTLS / AET Level 3).
- Accreditation / qualification relevant to Moving & Handling delivery (e.g., National Back Exchange trainer or evidence of working towards)

### Additional Requirements

**Essential**

- Able to travel independently across the Trust footprint (Rotherham, Doncaster and North Lincolnshire / Scunthorpe) and to approved external venues where required to meet service need
- Able to transport training equipment and resources between venues as required for delivery of training (including moving equipment into and out of training rooms)
- Must be able to meet the Occupational Health assessment requirements for the post, recognising that the role involves practical demonstration, supervised practice and handling training equipment during delivery
- Flexibility to meet service need (including occasional delivery outside normal working hours)

### Experience, Knowledge & Skills

**Essential**

- Experience delivering or facilitating training sessions or classes, including practical skills delivery.
- Significant experience and knowledge in Moving & Handling practice within a clinical setting.
- Ability to provide advice and guidance to staff and teams to support safe Moving & Handling practice.
- Ability to provide day-to-day line management, including supervision, annual appraisal (PDR) and sickness absence management / attendance in line with policy.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including ability to explain, demonstrate and provide feedback
- Ability to plan and manage workload around a delivery timetable across multiple sites.
- IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams

**Desirable**

- Experience of undertaking or contributing to workplace-based Moving & Handling assessments, including applying clinical judgement where required.
- Knowledge of ESR and / or experience using training record systems for data entry and record maintenance.
- Experience contributing to the development and updating of learning materials and / or policies / procedures.
- Experience supporting quality assurance or maintaining external standards / accreditation (where applicable).
