A Band 6 opportunity has arisen on Ward 16, Gastroenterology In-patient Ward, within the General Surgery and Digestive Diseases Clinical Service Unit.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an aspiring senior staff nurse looking to develop their management skills and undertake a Band 6 role within the gastroenterology ward.
Ward 16 is a 19- bedded ward that caters to patients with gastro and digestive disease-related conditions within the Digestive Disease specialty.
The successful candidate will have line management responsibility and would be expected to manage people alongside training and clinical supervisory responsibilities with support from the band 7.
The post holder will contribute to the operational management of a safe and quality service delivery on ward 16, management of the workforce, budgetary oversight, patient experience, recruitment and retention of staff and effective patient management and flow.
An important aspect of the role will be promoting a positive, supportive working environment which values and supports staff. Good leadership and communication skills are essential, and this is expected to be demonstrated during the interview. There is an expectation for the postholder to be flexible and be an excellent role model with the ability to develop positive and professional interpersonal relationships.
The postholder should be dynamic and forward thinking, with the ability to influence, drive and sustain change and improvements in patient care. They must have a sound knowledge and a keen interest in Gastroenterology and Digestive Diseases.
