We are a Major Trauma Centre, receiving patients from throughout Surrey and Sussex. All nurses will have the opportunity to rotate amongst the different areas of the department, including the Resus and the Urgent Treatment Centre. We are committed to the delivery of quality care in an unpredictable environment. We encourage innovation and participation in the development of new ways of working through multidisciplinary collaboration to achieve patient-focused outcomes. There are many opportunities for in-house training on emergency skills such as furthering your venepuncture and cannulation skills with ultra-sound guided vascular access training, plastering and catheterisation. Experience of all aspects of emergency nursing is essential for this post along with Manchester triage system or equivalent proficiency. This role is eligible for visa sponsorship under the UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) Skilled Worker route however sponsorship can only be provided where applicants meet the specific requirements set by UKVI, including the relevant skill and salary thresholds (£25000), and any role-specific criteria. ### Main duties of the job To ensure optimum standards of care for all patients attending the A&E Department. To undertake assessment of individual patients through a system of prioritisation of need and continuous assessment under supervision. To undertake planning, implementation, evaluation and re-evaluation of individual programmes of care, taking into account the patient’s dignity, religious and cultural needs. To develop into expanded roles of plastering, wound closure, suturing, ultrasound guided vascular access, defibrillation and maintain competency in these roles To ensure that the delivery of all nursing care complies with departmental, NMC and Trust policies, protocols, procedures and guidelines.
