The post holder will be expected to demonstrate good clinical skills and will be responsible for individualised care of patients. They should be able to lead on education and supervision of learners. Be able to supervise and co-ordinate other staff as appropriate. Take charge of the ward in the absence of the ward manager. To facilitate early discharge planning enabling appropriate arrangements to be in place for patients leaving hospital, making referrals and providing information to community services, as required, to achieve a safe and timely discharge from hospital. Always demonstrate compassion and empathy.
