### Job overview

Ward 85 are excited to advertise a 34.5 hour per week band 6 post.  Ward 85 specialises in providing care for children and young people with the following conditions: Cardiac, CF, Respiratory, Metabolic, Immunology, Endocrine, Rheumatology and tertiary paediatrics. The post holder will assess, plan implement and evaluate the care for patients supporting and guiding junior staff in the process.  S/he will provide direct patient care and have detailed clinical knowledge of the specialist area. The post holder will assist the Ward Manager in ensuring that high standards of quality of care are delivered & maintained within Ward 85. The post holder will act as a positive role model within the department for staff, patients and carers. The post holder will deputise for the senior sister as required.

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- First level registration - (RN Child)
- Qualified to function as a mentor for pre registration students
- Post basic evidence of study
- Evidence of Level 6 studies

**Desirable**

- Evidence of CPD in relevant specialty
- Leadership course

### Training and Experience

**Essential**

- Substantial relevant post registration experience, 1 of which must be within relevant clinical setting
- Evidence of professional leadership, leading to innovation in practice

- Experience of clinical audit
- Experience of research activities
