### Job overview

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic doctor to join the Medicine team working at the Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend, Prince Charles Hospital and Royal Glamorgan Hospital.

This post is suitable for anyone who has completed Foundation Training, or equivalent, (or is due to complete this by August 2026).

The post involves working alongside a dedicated medicine multidisciplinary team including medical trainees (FY1, FY2, IMT, ACCS, SpR), nurse practitioners, other AHP’s.

These posts are fixed term up to 6 months to cover Deanery vacancies and departmental changes.

Welsh and English speakers are welcome to apply.

This vacancy will be on the Resident Doctor payscale; the pay range for this post is £64,170 per annum.

### Main duties of the job

- Speciality/GIM ward round
- To contribute to an appropriate model of care which, recognises the involvement of the multi-disciplinary team, the patient and family.
- To contribute with the multi-disciplinary team in the use of referenced, evidence based guidelines, which are dated, signed and reviewed at least bi-annually or more frequently in light of new evidence.
- Ensure that an appropriate model of care is adopted which recognises the involvement of the multi-disciplinary team, the patient and family.
- Assist the multi-disciplinary team in the production of referenced, evidence based guidelines, which are dated, signed and reviewed at least bi-annually or more frequently in light of new evidence.
- Work with the rest of the clinical team to support the delivery of a high quality service provided by well-trained staff within clear departmental policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain good communication with clinical colleagues across the Health Board, regarding the treatment of their patients, and the appropriate use of the department’s resources.

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Advanced Life Support Certificate from the Resuscitation Council UK or equivalent (as required to complete core medical competences) by intended start date

### Experience

**Essential**

- Have evidence that their present level of achievement and performance is commensurate with the totality of their period of training

**Desirable**

- Previous experience within NHS

### GMC standards

**Essential**

- Be eligible for full registration with, and hold a current licence to practise from, the GMC at the advertised post start date
- Have evidence of achievement of foundation competences from a UKFPO affiliated foundation programme or equivalent, at the advertised start date in line with GMC standards/Good Medical Practice
